WorldNomads.com has scooped the best website award at the British Youth Travel Awards in London.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, UK Tourism Minister Margaret Hodge praised the industry for rising to the challenges facing the sector.

She said: “Travel and tourism is one of the biggest industries in the UK economy, employing one in eight. There are many challenges facing the sector – including visa controls, airport taxes and a general shortage of money among consumers – but if we pull together, we can keep travel as a really important ingredient in young people’s lives.”
