Nomads purchases Koala Noosa and Hervey Bay leases and acquires operations of Fraser Island product
Nomads World Hotels has announced the purchase of leases for Koala properties in Noosa and Hervey Bay while the company has also acquired the operational and marketing duties for Koala’s Fraser Island 4WD product.
Koala Backpackers Beach Resort Noosa and Koala Backpackers Hervey Bay will now be known as Nomads Noosa Backpackers Hostel and Nomads Hervey Bay Backpackers and will undergo an extensive refurbishment over the next few months.
“These properties bring us one step closer to our vision of a complete set of quality hostels in premium locations in all the major tourist destinations of Australia and New Zealand, so that we can offer our partners in the tourism industry access to well managed beds in areas where their customers want to go,” said director Michael Ebert.
The Fraser Island product will be renamed Mad Fraser Island Tours.
“We are excited to be expanding into the tour market with our new Mad Fraser Island Tours product, as well as to work with existing partners in the backpacking industry with our new backpackers hostels on Australia’s East Coast,” Ebert said.
The new hostel acquisitions mark 13 properties now owned or managed by Nomads in Australia and New Zealand.
