Jamie Neale plans comeback tour

British backpacker Jamie Neale, who went missing for 12 days in the Blue Mountains in July, is planning to come back to Australia with a tracking device and complete his travels in a second Gap Year.

He told The Daily Telegraph: “I’m hoping to finish off my original travel plan and to go back to Australia. I still think it’s a great country. I’ve bought a GPS. It works globally so if I go away I’ll take it with me.”

Neale has been accused of failing to adequately reward his rescuers after he struck a $200,000 deal to tell his story on Channel 9’s 60 Minutes program. He subsequently fell out with his father, Richard Cass, who alleged he had reneged on an agreement to split the fee with him.
