Golden Backpacks presenter campaigns for ‘International Australia Day’

The presenter from the 2009 Golden Backpack Awards, Sam Kekovich will take part in another Australia Day ad campaign endorsing the consumption of lamb but this time he will also take his campaign offshore.

As reported on Thumbrella’s sister site Mumbrella, Kekovich, on behalf of Meat and Livestock Australia will spread the message out to the rest of the world on a tour which will see him visit the UN headquarters in New York and Hollywood to campaign to have January 26 made ‘International Australia Day.’

“Our world would be a much better place if it were more Australian. If we all came together as mates over a lamb barbie – just as we do Downunder,” Kekovich said.

His tour is being followed by Channel Seven’s Sunrise programme, where he will appear in a daily diary segment until January 20.

I am embarrassed if he is representing Australia overseas… after hearing him all night at golden backpacks i simply thought “what a tool and a redneck” nows he’s spreading his redneckism on behalf of our country?
