ATEC backpacker conference widens remit

The Australian Tourism Export Council has changed the name of its annual backpacker conference to the ATEC Backpacker & Youth Industry Conference to reflect a wider focus on all youth travel, not just backpacking.

The conference, which takes place in Hobart on April 19 and 20, features sessions on business diversification, global youth and backpacker insights and social media.

Interactive break-out sessions in the afternoon will discuss sector-specific issues and aim to produce solutions to help shape a sustainable future for the industry.
